Ron,

I would not use the original Pi-Net.
Mine has been smoked with the 4CX1500B at 3KV
1A input ~ 2 out.
The bandswitch is extremely weak and wire diameter even cooled
is far too thin.
( thinking of 2*GS35 at 5KV 2A)
