The Henry 8-K Ultra uses a large brass strap wound into a coil
that is heavily plated with chrome. This is used alone, with no
parallel resistance. I have built several amps (3CX3000A7, YC-156)
using Henry's suppressor with great results. (so far)

Also, Entron amps use nichrome/resistors on some models/
