A while ago I had to design an amp which had to have an extremely low second harmonic. The obvious choice was the deployment of a push-pull final stage. As such we have used two 8877 in push-pull, transformer coupled to the output tank. NO blocking cap :) We were able to get 4KW continuous duty (cooled by a big air compressor) with a second harmonic down to -160dB :) If you have problems with your blocking cap, consider transformer coupled push-pull stages.
