Thanks Carl and others,
In studying my ARRL Handbook at basic rectifier circuits and the way it looks
like it may have been connected. It strongly looks like a voltage doubler
circuit. There are two rectifier diodes uses. Two of them tied together at one
end that also go to one end of the transformer. The other end of one rectifier
goes to the (+) side of the filter, the other end of the other rectifier diode
goes to the (-) side of the filter bank. It looks like the other end of the
TRANSFORMER goes to the "CENTER" of the filter bank ( three capacitors on each
side of where this point looks like it might have been connected ) rather than
the end of the filter bank. The filter bank consists of (6) series 450 VDC 480
uF Capacitors with each capacitor shunted with a large 25 K resistor.
The only other questions is where the voltage meter connects. It looks like it
was connected at the next to the last capacitor (+ side ) before the last (
last capacitor being the clostest to ground ). Does this sound like the right
location ??
