There was a construction article in the January 1974 issue
of Ham Radio Magazine by John R. True, W4OQ entitled
"Five-Band Kilowatt Amplifier" which used a single 4-1000A.
The suppressor was unique (to me) in that it used a 20 pf
Centralab ceramic doorknob cap, (the one that looks like a
2 watt resistor, p/n 852S) in parallel with 4-470 ohm 2 watt
resistors in parallel, and 4 turns of #12 wire, 1/2 inch diameter.
All of the above was in parallel, and the coil was adjusted to
make the assembly resonate on 110 mhz.
I built this project, and it worked very well.
