My suggestion would be to troubleshoot the problem, before
reaching any conclusion.
It would not be difficult to measure the resistance of the relay line
when pulled from the BACK of the amplifier....because that is what
the amplifier cares about.
As an alternative, substitute another rig or another amplifier and
see what happens.
The problem could be either place, although many people seem to
have had FT-1000D troubles with relay line continuity.
Mine was absolutely in the switch contacts, no question at all.
Soldering didn't work (for long), spraying the switch with cleaner did.
