Subject: | [AMPS] Bird Wattmeter Slug Failure |

While tuning up my amp on 40-meters this morning, I managed to burn-up my 2.5 KW (Bird 2500H) element. As I brought the amp's power up to 1KW, I noticed that the Bird 43 was arcing inside and a few seconds later the slug stopped functioning. The 43 meter is fine and all lower power slugs read just fine. Anyone know why a slug would burn up?
