It may be purely coincidental, but back in the 60's, it was noticeable that all
the engineers in high power transmitter lab at Marconi's had daughters - and
that had tended to be the case for some years.
On the other hand, when my brother in law was born, his father had been working
on high power RF for 20 years, and a couple of years before, had moved to work
at an ionospheric scatter tx station - which is not exactly known for using QRP!
