For someone comtemplating the construction of a hombrew 10-80m legal
limit amplifier (and having difficulty locating parts), I'm offering a
complete drop-in RF deck component package removed primarily (for a
magazine article project) from a Drake L4B linear amplifier consisting
of:
a. the one piece switch/coil assembly fully wired
b. a tuned input circuit
c. both the plate (w/vernier) and antenna variable capacitors w/mounting
brackets
d. a 24VDC 3PDT HD antenna relay (new)
e. the plate choke wound on porcelain rod. Will handle 3KW w/ 6KV
bypass capacitor
f. all the plate and cathode blocking capacitors
g. the bifilar filament choke
h. a 3 minute solid state 110VAC delay timer (for indirectly heated
filaments)
i. an 8877 (3CX1500A7) porcelain air system socket with grid to ground
tabs (new)
These units have been carefully removed and completely intact with no
cut wires so positioning and reassembly on your deck is an easy bolt-on
process. The tuned input circuit is linked to the bandswitch with a
flexible drive system for the simultaneous one knob bandswitching of the
input and output circuitry. All the gear and drive mechanisms are
included. Each and every component is in like new condition with no
smoked or RF burn marks.
Here's an excellent opportunity for the amplifier builder, looking to
construct a quality ampflifier, to save countless, frustrating hours
(and expense) tracking down the parts for a legal limit + amplifier.
