Indeed it does. I tried kidding it, but the thermal time constant is apparently
a bit too long: it tries to start and then when the electrolytic discharges,
drops out.
Heck, we're only talking 4 transistors (maybe 5) and a 741. All out of stock! No
purchase needed!
I remember when an apprentice, my old section leader in frustration saying:
'These bloody transistors! You need a handful of the damn things to do anything
you could do with a twin triode!'
