Tom, Haven't you learned that the ONLY way that it is possible to run a linear
PA is in GG zero bias? For that, you have to have a high mu tube!
In grounded cathode of course, gain is [mu. Rl]/[Rl + Ra], so gain is
proportional to mu. Thus high mu has advantages in reducing the amount of grid
swing, and thus grid current.
