You might also want to see the WLW 500 kW equipment which Fyler (at 
General Electric) wrote his paper about. Those RCA UV-862 triodes 
were 60 inches long, with 21 inches from the filament connection to 
the plate radiator! Lucky to get them to play at 1 MHz without all 
sorts of physical resonances due to the inductance and capacitance 
there.
