MFJ/Ameritron owners: I received an e-mail from an AL-82 owner who reports that the HV bypass is 1000pF. At 1.8MHz, 1000pF has 88-ohms of capacitive reactance. It is my opinion that 88-ohms of Xc is not a sufficient bypass. - cheers -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/ampsfaq.html Submissions: amps@contesting.com Administrative requests: amps-REQUEST@contesting.com Problems: owner-amps@contesting.com Search: http://www.contesting.com/km9p/search.htm |
