The reported instance instance of one G2DAF amplifier with a -22 db 3rd
order distortion is within 10% of the published specifications of the
4CX250B tube using a closely regulated screen voltage. Care and Feeding of
the POWER GRID TUBE published by Eimac states that the 3rd order distortion
of the 4CX250B is -25 db. This one test seems to prove that varying the
screen voltage from 0 to hundreds of volts is not quite as disasterous as
some believe.
