Is the Cut-Off Bias option on the Heath HA-10 (Negative voltage applied to
a small two contact terminal strip on the back of the amp) really required
or is it an option(I've been told both)? It appears to be a good thing to
do but my rigs don't supply the negative voltage so I would have to build a
power supply.
In addition is the Solid State Semicon 1N2637 replacement for the 866A Tube
a good way to go or can a failure ruin the amp?
