Charles,
I had absolutely no problem with one. Used it for approximately one year and
it was always "good to go". VERY easy tune, very stable...Good beginner amp.
Next I had an AL-572 and now am using an AL-1200. Ameritron may not be ACOM
or Alpha but good "bang for the buck." GL, Phil W2GE
