?  I have seen many 3-500Zs that suddenly shorted due to bent filament 
helices after a semi-mysterious "big-bang".  ..  However, bent filaments 
are rare with 3CX1200A7s - even though big-bangs are not.

?  Grid-current damage in 3-500Z amplifiers seems unlikely to me.  Even 
when the grid is run at incandesent temps, no damage appears to result.
