?   The problem is not corrosion.  Air in the output vac. relay will 
eventually destroy the input relay.  A new RJ-1A typically has a DC 
breakdown potential of 5000v.  However, if a ceramic-metal seal is 
leaking, the breakdown potential will be decreasing.  .
