Also the 746 is a pig on keyclicks. Those engineers doesn´t
deserve
to be called engineers.

Why don't these guys perfect the last version, why "new" every time?
The IC-746 I bought locally (it was one of the first batch sent out
world-wide by ICOM to gather user feedback and test reports, etc.)
suffered severe crosswalk between 2m and 10m. The engineers had
forgotten to switch off the 2m preamp when 10m was selected, easily
confirmed by disconnecting the 2m antenna.
ICOM released an engineering note on fixing the problem, and this was
performed under warranty by the agent.
Seems this business of active stages left "hanging" is popular! These
stages are guaranteed to behave badly...
