In the July 1985 issue of 73, WB2WIK, had a detailed writeup of a 4-1000A amp
for 6 meters.
He used a 5-55 pf vacuum variable cap (ITT/Jennings GCS-55), 3 turns of 1/4
inch copper tubing on a 1 and 3/4 inch form which when the form was removed, it
was stretched out to 3 1/4 inches long, and 20-200 pf loading cap (E. F.
Johnson 167-12).
It ran on 4KV on the plate. Claimed 80 watts in gave 1.8 KW out. Did not state
the efficiency.
