Hi Dave,
Don't forget that you will get much airflow (CFM) for the same wheel
size when
u reduce the speed to 1700, you will need a much larger wheel.
My Dayton Electric blowers have 3 13/16" diameter wheels x 1/7/8" wide
running
at 2870 RPM.
If I were to reduce speed to 1700 RPM, I'd have to increase to a 5 1/4
inch diameter
wheel by 2 1/2 inches deep.
I'd recommend shock mounts as an alternative to a larger wheel diameter
and width.
There are a good selection of blowers with RPM below 2000 in my Granger
catalog.

Does anyone have advice on a source for 1700 RPM blowers such as Rich
describes? The only info I have is for Dayton out of the Grainger
catalog
and all the models listed are 3000+ RPM.
Second, I know there was a discussion some months ago about a source for
Modutec panel meters. Was that ever solved successfully? Does anyone
have
suggestions on other types of panel meters? I've been searching my
catalogs but it seems like several of the traditional meter suppliers
have
dropped out of the business. A web search for "panel meters" has been
only
slightly productive.
Thanks in advance.
