Fred, N1DPM, wrote an excellent active bias mod in the NE VHF/UHF
proceedings a few years ago. Two cheap transistors and a few other parts.
Send me a large SASE and .55 postage for a copy.
Ive made the mod in Mirage, RFC, TE and THP bricks and it works real
well.
