The SK-607 is dimensionally identical to the SK-600 except that it has a
pin 5 and there's a 6-32 UNC connection to the centre heater pin. However,
the data sheet suggests that eight circumferential slots 3/4in long
(neglecting end radii) and 3/16in wide are cut in the chassis adjacent to
the socket. These are presumably intended to allow a degree of extra air
through the anode, although I didn't bother with them in a 144MHz amplifier
I built some years ago using a pair of 4CX600Js. This has never displayed
the slightest symptoms of overheating; using a blower of the capacity
recommended on the data sheet, the anode and base seal temperatures are
well within limits.
