That amp blew 811's at a steady rate, even at 1700V under no load.
Upgrading to 572Bs was recommended. Later 160-10L's had a tapped xfmr
that could be selected for either tube.

Dont believe everything you read without understanding. The 572B can be
used in place of the 811 in most apps but the reverse is not often true.
Except on 27 MHz of course where anything goes.

You "think" or do you know? Specs on Svetlana and Chinese 811A's say NO,
not maybe or I think. US made tubes were never speced past 1750V max and
1500V operational.
