Does anyone have any data on the RCA high voltage diode, type CR304 ???
Another ham and I disagree about the specs. He says it is 24 kV
PIV, but there are 10 diodes in series, each shunted by a capacitor and
resistor. The resistors are 510 k 10% , and are 9/16" long by 3/16"
diameter. My belief is that the resistors are about 1W, yet would need
to be 11.3 W each for the complete stack to take 24 kV
(power=V^2/R=24000*24000/5.1M = 113 W. Unfortunately all the components
are sprayed in a conformal coating, so to determine the individual
diode types or capacitor voltage ratings is not easy.
Can anyone see a flaw or my arguement, or better still provide the full
specs ??????
