Hi guys..

I'd like to add to the reply below that W4ETO is NOT "out of the business"
at ALPHA/POWER, although I now go by W0ID and mostly keep relaxed office
hours at ETO rather than at ALPHA/POWER (which is 90 miles away in
Longmont).

Second, the ALPHA operation has been spun out from ETO and is now managed
by W0UN - one of the absolutely top guys in the rf and amplifier world -
and I think our customers will tell you now that they're getting
traditional ALPHA service, which is second to none.

Third, if you check ALPHA's web page <www.alpha_power_inc.com> you'll see
that you can even opt for warranty extension up to 4 additional years (8
years total!) at pretty modest cost. What other electronic product is there
ANYWHERE that gives a 4 year non-pro-rated standard warranty, let alone a
money-back guarantee and optional 8 year warranty?

Finally, during the current "Visalia International DX Convention/Dayton
HamVention season" you can save money on a new ALPHA amplifier with or
without an extended warranty. Details are available from the factory and
should on the web site shortly.

Sorry for the commercial, guys... got carried away again.

73, Dick W0ID

In a message dated 98-05-02 11:37:51 EDT, you write:

<< hi to the gripster!
this pete`s friend down here in sunny fla. meet u at the jax hamfest last
yr. any way, do u own an 91b ? my question is everybody says that their
customer service stinks. if u ask tect questions abt their amps, they tell
u to talk to someone who owns one. also, since w4eto is out of the
business, i`m leary because they are really not amateur oriented anymore.
ur thoughts and if u do own one, how do like it ?

I do not know how these rumores get started but when you can TRY this amp
for
30 days NO charge, and it also has a 4 year warrenty what do you need to
know?

Try it for the 30days like they say if there's something you do not like
about
it they will take it back. In the 30days you have it you will have all the
manuels so if
you are a amp expert all your answears should be answeared by trying it.

I waited took my time asked others, etc etc...I chose the 91b for the 4
year
warrenty
as I am more an appliance operator when it comes to amps.
The 91b is a dream to tune and with 40 watts drive gets the 1500 out and
this
thing loafs at 1500 out.

I looked at the others and the warrentys were not as good. And if they
would
of let
me try there amps for 30 days maybe I would be owning another amp right
now.
I really like the LED metering and fault protection...this thing is idiot
proof...believe
me the idiot ckt has kiked in a few times.

On the amp reflector you do not see too many promblems be addressed about
Alpha
amps.
And one last thing...4 other guys in the Atlanta area have bought the 91b
after I did.
They liked what they saw and heard. If you want a amp in the price of the
91b,
I really feel that you can not do better.
