The 3CX5000A7 (not 3CPX5000A7) tube data sheet says you can use class C,
but Eimac have told me not too, based on a limited lifetime in FM
broadcase transmitters. However, many oxide cathode tubes are routinely
used for class C, so I rather suspect its more to do with the specific
tube design, than the type of cathode. The 4CX250B is speced for class C
and it uses an oxide cathode.
