Anyone who doubts it's possible should perform this little experiment:
Couple a grid dip oscillator to a parallel resonant tank circuit and
listen to the signal in a nearby receiver in the AM mode. Dip the GDO
and find the signal in the receiver. Very slowly, tune the GDO back
and forth while following it with the receiver. You will hear two
separate frequencies swishing around - one from the GDO's tank and one
from the other. Very educational!
