hi john, i have owned a al82 amp for right around 3 years and cant say
one bad thing about it.. especially the ameritron support and service.
after the amp was 3 months old
one of the eimac tubes crapped out that is the glass developed a crack
in it the folks at
ameritron sent a replacement along with a bias zener diode no
problems.. then when the
warrentry was almost up mike from ameritron called one evening to remind
me of this
and wanted to know if there was anything else they could do while the
amp was still
in warrenty, you wont see that from most of the companies today.i
recently had to sell
off the amp due to rfi problems in the neighborhood and i am sure the
new owner will
get many years of good service from it. the important thing to remember
with the amp as
well as others is dont be afraid to use the loading control and never
use it to reduce powerout that is a sure ticket to trouble
