[AMPS] TS 50

Hi all,
       My friend VK6NU has a TS-50 and he wants to key up a FL2100Z
amplifier. He plugged the keying line into the radio but nothing happens
when he tries to key the amp. 

I told him to RTFM (Read The *!@#$%^&* Manual). He says he did and it still
doesn't work. 

Does anybody know if there is any special trick to achieve what he wants to
achieve? I know the TS-450S requires the setting of the keying relay via
the menu sytem. Is there anything similar with the TS-50?
