I received a recent inquiry about replacing a kaput Eimac 3-500Z in a
2-tube amplifier with the graphite (G) anode versions from other
manufacturers. The Mu of the Eimac version is c. 130. The Mu of the
graphite versions is c. 200. Thus, in a 2-tube amplifier, the lower Mu
tube would consume considerably more ZSAC/idling-I than the higher Mu
tube.
