That is a fine amp....just ignore the jabs and naysayers.
The primary concern is the condition of the HV filter caps. It would
probably be a good idea to replace them as preventative medicine; a
replacement transformer is not cheap.
When replacing tubes, do not use the Svetlana ceramic base version; they
have a bit too much internal C to tune on 10M. The black base tubes are
OK. If you buy Chinese, make sure the tubes are constructed for
horizontal mounting. Personally, I would start collecting 4 NIB USA made
811A's.
Oh...do not drive with more than 100W and do not try for over 650-700W
out if you wish cool and long life.
