Many have asked why I would "replace" my AL-1200:
1. Not QSK (IMHO, the TR relay is the weakest part
of the whole thing). -I realize this could be "fixed"
2. It requires a more drive than a pair of '800s.
OTOH:
1. Power supply rated for 2500w.
2. Peter Dahl transformer.
3. Simple, reliable design.
4. Very rugged 3CX1200 tube (50w GRID dissipation).
5. Legal limit.
Anyway, the AL-1200 is for sale, $1400 obo. If I don't
sell it, I'll keep the 'MP on the HF-2500 and drive it
with the 'D...
For CW, I really wanted QSK and did not want to modify it,
though I may if I keep it...
