Need some help
Trying to get an AM6155 onto 430 MHz. Modified the grid circuit so that
it
produces a 1.2-1.4 SWR. Only change in the plate circuit so far is a RF
choke in the B+ line in the cavity.
At present I am only getting abt 140 watts out at a plate current of 300
ma. Plate voltage is 2200 volts. No grid current.
I couldn't get a quarter wave input circuit to work so am using a 3/4
wave
line with a cut down (fewer plates) tuning capacitor.
Any suggestions as to how to improve the efficiency?
Tried 2 tubes, performance the same.
Thanks in advance
