Hello Tom,
An amp with four 811A's is simple, inexpensive and bandswitching should
be no problem since the voltages will be much lower than what has been
discussed here lately.
I would suggest ordering an 811H manual from Ameritron and a Collins 30L1
manual from one of the repro sources.   You can use those for ideas.  A
few good circuits have appeared in magazines if you have access to a
master index.
Plate voltages of 1500-1700 key down are fine and current will be roughly
700ma peak. Drive of up to 120W is OK and power outputs up to 650W or so
are safe. The 811A does not have much dissapation reserve and a small fan
is recommended. 

The 4-400 works fine in GG service and a pair will approach 1500W out;
3-500Z circuits are easily adaptable.
