Comments:
Pretty serious effort from my small station. Local QRN to my South raised my
noise floor by 6 dB but thankfully my RX antennas allowed me to hear OK to the
NE and West. Stayed in the chair for the first 10 hours of operating (did not
leave the chair at all) and then took a 3 hour nap. No European callers and
very happy to get KH6 in the log plus numerous Carribean stations and West Coast
stations including a couple VE7 stations. Thanks to everyone for calling, great
working so many familiar Topband calls, and HNY.
Transceiver: K3 (borrowed from my good friend Mike W9RE)
TX Antenna: 68 foot base loaded vertical wire hanging straight down from a very
tall Sycamore tree with 55 short buried radials (2500 feet of radials)
RX Antennas: 3 small point fed pennants (pointing 40, 160, and 300 degrees).
73, Don (wd8dsb)
