Comments:
My 30th consecutive year with this contest. Last year was my
personal best and with the SSN a bit higher than last year I
thought I had a chance for another, but it was not to be. The
conditions were a bit weird. Lots of backscatter and few Qs
from the local states. It seemed that it was either EU or
west of the Mississippi. I heard lots of SA, but the hill to my
south limits my signal -- and HFTA shows this.
It was my 2nd best score.
As usual, I started at 28.000 and went up the band calling
whomever I found. There were enough stations that it took
a good hour-plus to make one traverse up to 28.6+++. I spent
most of Sunday hunting for mults. The band really shut down
quickly when the sun went down.
