Comments:
With all the pre-contest talk forecasting such great conditions, I expected my
limited time on the air to be totally outstanding. So much for expectations. I
got on Saturday morning about 1215 UTC and 10 was just opening to EU. Initial
rates were outstanding and it was fun. Then, I had to shut down for a ZOOM
conference call at 1345 until 1445 UTC. When I got back someone had shut down 10
meters. Well, just about. Yes, I was still working EU but my RBN numbers dropped
so much it was easy to understand where the rate went.
As we had plans for Sunday this was only going to be a one day event, but due to
the conditions my BIC time was much less than expected. I just don't enjoy
listening to myself call CQ with rates averaging 60 to 70 per hour. So, I shut
down early.
Thanks for the fun in the beginning and hopefully Sunday was better for those in
for the duration. However, I was not home to find out.
73,
Bruce N1LN
