Comments:
I decided to took place in that ARRL 160 Contest due to my curiosity. How worse
could be top band conditions in the very bottom?)). We had everything - high
solar activity with SFI over 150, strong Aurora with K index up to 6, constant
rain with a wet snow.. What's else?! Since we are on the NE edge of the
continental NA we can't work a lot of East Coast stations. I saw them on my
N1MM+ bandmap - but there was not a beep on their spot. I've been lucky with two
very tiny opening on Saturday morning and Sunday night to work KH,VE6,VE7 and a
few W6/W7 mults. Still missing a few W6/W7 anyway. Our famous NE trick - getting
more EU mults didn't work that time. We had about 30 minutes opening when we can
work some EU's: UR,LY,YL,OH0,SM,DL,I,F,G,GW,GM and a few others. But that wasn't
enough.
Thanks a lot to K5OT and K2AV. We had a constant battle at COSB when AA1K got on
top with a descent score, we can't even dream about. That brought some trilling
and motivation for keeping "butt in the chair" during very boring
activity.))
Ant: Inverted L 21m, short BEVs to EU, NA,JA
SO1R: Kenwood TS590SG + Alpha 99
Thanks for all the Q's!
73!
