Not being a code guy, and relying on CWGET and the code reader in the FTDX101mp
makes for a slow time. I really need strong signals and computer generated code
to be most effective, but I am slowly learning higher speed letters and numbers,
which was critical with all the busted calls I got from the cluster. Because I
am assisted due to the code readers, I decided to add the cluster spots for the
first time, the spots were so bad, I am not sure it was helpful. I had 6
different spots for W1WEF at one point, with only one correct! There were many
that had 4 or 5 stabs at the call sign, with some never being correct. Saturday
evening I was going along fine, took a break for dinner, and when I came back,
the signals were so low I felt like someone threw a blanket over my antennas.
About midnight they came back up, but by then it was bedtime. Still learning!
