Comments:
A casual S&P trawl on the three bands looking for DX. No strategy, no
targets for zones or DXCCs, just a narrow filter, each band end to end, move to
next band and repeat until a nice round number of QSOs on which to finish.
The three bands had good propagation and were very busy throughout both days.
10m was the best, then 15 and 20 as can be seen by the results. DX S&P is
always fun in EU with loud Z14/15/16/20 filling the bands throughout each day.
Finding DX amongst the pile is a good exercise in patience and concentration.
With no directional ERP there was no point in joining some of the permanent
pileups for the rarer stations.
Operating standards of callers seem to get worse each time with appalling
behaviour in many of the pileups, usually fuelled by those not entering the
contest but just watching the cluster and constantly calling without any regard
for others. Transmitted signals are generally getting better but still a few
that need to be improved.
Log uploaded to LOTW, EQSL and Clublog and submitted as a checklog.
IC-7610, Expert 1K-FA, 400w to fixed wire dipoles at 6m.
Let's hope 10m conditions stay up for the contest in a couple of weeks.
