Comments:
I welcomed Vlad NC1VR (Ex. EY8VV) to the team.
I was testing out the repairs to the 160 2L GP (DVA) and the 80M 4-Square, plus
I wanted to enjoy 10M & 15M. My best rate was 188 QSOs in 60 mins, and I had
five hours over 130 Q/hr. I operated 15 hours of the first 39 hours for 1200+
QSOs and 1.4 million.
Sunday morning I broke away from running EU to picked up Vlad-NC1VR at 1600Z and
he was on-the-air by 1645Z on 15M to close out the band.
Dave-K1SX arrived about Noon. Dave and I then worked on setting up a 2nd station
(IC7300 AL-1200) for 10M & 40M. At 1830Z we moved Vald to 20M.
Once we found all the components necessary, next we built an Amplifier Keying
Buffer circuit. This time, instead of capacitors and other circuits I tried 12V
powering a relay keyed by the XCVR which keyed the amp. It worked great. Total
time for station setup was about 2 hours.
Dave-K1SX started on 10M @ 1950Z then went to a virgin 40M band for 265 QSOs for
the last 2 hours. His total qsos of 308 in 4 hrs 10 minutes.
Thanks to both of these fine men for their participation and their patience.
They had a great time.
CU in the 160M events this winter and AR10M.
