Comments:
Not entirely sure what just happened. Yes, the flare certainly didn't help, but
I just couldn't get going even to the level of last year's effort. I pretty much
immediately fell behind the last year's pace and not only couldn't catch up to
it, but all-in-all came with more than 10 percent reduction in the number of
QSOs. Is the activity also down significantly? Needless to say, Sunday slog was
even more painful than usual. Maybe as a civilization we should leave the
Sweepstakes Sunday to the AI bots as a part of improving the human condition? On
a positive note, I ended up with 3 VOs is the log, more than I've ever had. Nice
to have the significant representation of this usually difficult section.
OK, I try not to do this, but I have to take this opportunity to vent a bit. I
can't believe how many times I've been asked to repeat my section during this
contest. I usually get a share of requests to repeat it, generally about the
same as for the number. Though, one would expect the number to be more difficult
to copy. But this time, I swear, it felt that it took longer to get EB than to
exchange the rest of the information both ways to complete the Q. I really would
rather not get a 6-area club call just for Sweepstakes in order to try to
address this, but even then, I wonder, would it solve the problem?
Many thanks to Ken (N6RO) for use of his great station and Chris (N6WM) for help
with Flex-related issues. The station worked without a glitch.
