2 el on 10 and 15, resonant vertical on 20 and 40, IC-7100, fldigi, 90W from AZ
I was mainly checking things out to be ready for CQ DX next week, but I also
hadn’t done a RTTY contest for a while even though I enjoy the mode. Worked a
lot of JAs Friday evening on 10 and 15 and also managed to reach ZL and VK. I
was able to work some EUs on Saturday morning although the openings there
weren’t great. Saturday afternoon I managed to work a few SAs with some more
JAs. Domestics scattered here and there. I decided to put up the full vertical
to try 40m Saturday evening just to get some W/VE mults. This was intended to
be a fairly casual effort, so I didn’t come back for Sunday. Overall,
conditions on 10/15 seemed better than indicated by the number of people on the
air. Average age was 67, with a 17 and nobody else below 46. Close to a 50/50
split between NA and DX.
Score is approximate; too lazy to dig out the mini-PC to run through N1MM+.
