Comments:
Rats! I brought up N1MM and no keying from my WKUSB and no keying from N1MM
F-keys. rebooted computer. No change. I did manage to get the keyer to key the
radio, so programmed up the four memories and jumped into it about 4 minutes
late. After a while, I gave up using the exch and TU buttons and manually keyed
that myself and let the keyer do the CQ'ing. I guess I need to dive under the
desk again and add some more ferrites and reseat connectors. Hopefully, that
will take care of things. Fingers crossed.
Thanks to all who answered my CQ's tonight.
Contest hint/reminder: if you lose a jumpball to another station, don't move off
to try to find another CQ station to call. If you think you might be the only
loser in the jumpball, it's often takes less time for the CQ station op to
finish the QSO than it does for you to find another station to work. And,
frequently, because he more than likely heard more one station calling him, he
is very likely to quickly end the TU exchange with just a TU, so be ready to
drop in your call. I had five or six situations tonight with multiple callers.
When I finished the QSO with just a TU, there was nobody there calling me.
