Here is the list of planned operations scraped from the OhQP planned
operations web page and reformatted with a Python script:
K8MR 27: ATHE, BELM, CARR, CLAR, CLIN, COLU, CUYA, FAIR, FAYE, GREE,
GUER, HIGH, HOCK, MADI, MAHO, MONR, MORG, MUSK, NOBL, PERR,
PICK, PORT, ROSS, STAR, SUMM, TRUM, TUSC
K8RYU 8: ATHE, GALL, JACK, LAWR, MEIG, SCIO, VINT, WASH
K8O 11: CRAW, ERIE, HANC, HARD, HURO, OTTA, RICH, SAND, SENE, WOOD,
WYAN
Here are the mobiles I worked:
Mobile Counties Counties QSOs Counties
Station Scheduled Worked Missed
K8MR 27 22 29 CUYA, GREE, HIGH, HOCK, SUMM,
TUSC
K8RYU 8 6 7 ATHE, MEIG
K8O 11 9 11 ERIE, HARD, RICH
total: 47 7% of total QSOs
This year I logged the county for each my Kansas and Hawaii QSOs which
means I have to post-process my log to convert 3 letter county codes
into KS or HI, depending on the callsign. Then I can submit my log to
the Kansas and Hawaii QSO party sponsors for their benefit.
Worked W8WTS, K8FH, W5TM, and N4OX on 5 bands: 160 through 15. I
checked 10 a few times but never saw a signal on the spectrum display.
40 meters stayed short for almost the entire contest period, perhaps
going somewhat long in the last hour, although I was able to work K8MR
in Clark County, about 60 miles to my northwest at 0343Z. No one
appeared on 80 until about 90 minutes before dusk and even then the
population seemed low. 15 played OK and I never saw any signals on 10
meters.
Missed 21 counties: ADAM, ALLE, ASHT, AUGL, BROW, DARK, ERIE, FULT,
HAMI, HARD, HENR, HIGH, HOCK, LOGA, LUCA, MERC, MONT, PAUL, SHEL,
UNIO, and WILL, which seems like a lot.
I missed RI, MS, NV, SD, and AK for WAS + DC. The only provinces I
worked were VE3 and VE4 so 12 Canadian entities are missing.
(51 Ks - 1 - 5) + (88 OHs - 21) + (14 VEs - 12) + 1 DX = 115
Since I have not purchased any ham radio software adaptations to the
few Ohio QSO Party rules changes of the past few years (DX is a
multiplier and 160 is a band), I'll have to calculate my own score
again:
(649 CW QSOs * 2) * (115 CW mults) = 149270
There 29 dupes which I attribute to confusion about whether or not
K1LT is a different call than K1LT/8 (as determined by logging
software). One of these years I might remember to think about this
issue before the contest and maybe take some alternative action.
Equipment: K3S, P3, Alpha 8410 loafing and growling anyway, 2nd K3,
P3, ETO-91B also loafing and tribanders, dipoles, and verticals.
