Do I make you want QTC's baby? Well, do I ?
Oh behave!
----
About 15.25hrs of the QTC 'dance' !
Shout out to Jay and the gang @ Array Solutions for shipping me a 20m 4-Sq so
quickly.
I set my previous one on fire a few weeks ago! Turns out there was a good inch
or two of EarWig p00P in it. I guess the grommet had rotted away and those
lil' rascals found their way in. Add a little RF and *WOOF*, up in smoke. I
cannot begin to describe the smell. I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned it with
every chemical in my garage and cannot get the smell or black soot off the PCB
and inside of the metal box. CR@zy as it seems, most of the components look ok,
but the board looks like rotted black cardboard and most traces are gone &
plastic relay cases are somewhat melted. I used this 20m 4-sq for years sent to
me by a very kind Texan most of you know. Sadly, looks like it's parts only
now, Bob. I had some good times with it for sure.
Tnx also to N1MM and team for making the font readable/sizeable in the QTC popup
window. Ahhhh, rrreadable rrrelief ! (hi)
As usual, the EU's did most of the heavy lifting.
10m squeaked in a couple Q's Sat. Sunday I was not blessed with the Es opening
the W's further south were getting.
15m flat but runnable. Had its moments.
20m soft most of the day, picked up towards dusk both days.
40m hollow.
80m almost unuseable-blech.
Seemed like we had a path almost straight north. VY0/TF/OH/SM/deep Asia(RBN),
while I sometimes struggled to work an CT/EA or Italian stn.
Limited time but got on a little(15.25hrs) here and there to give the EU's
QTC's for the cause.
1 x ic7410 and wire antennas
CU (all of a sudden!) in the next one.
