Comments:
I used Richard as my name in honor of K5NA who was killed in a tragic accident a
few months ago. He was a good friend and an avid DX contester though not so much
on domestic contests like NAQP. The name resulted in many repeats, especially
when doing S&P. Not good if I had been serious about my score. In retrospect
I should have used the club call W5CT.
My stamina suffers from recent health issues so was only able to put in 6 hours.
Came back from one break to find 20 meters almost dead - not good timing. Also
my 40 meter dipole developed very high SWR. Fortunately the antenna tuner took
care of it but with about 400 feet of feedline there had to be quite a bit of
loss.
I like this contest in part because of the time factor. Hard for me to be
serious about 48 or even 24 hour contests anymore (I'm 82).
