Comments:
Always a fun contest. This year the conditions were great to Europe on 20
allowing much needed IOTAs. Europe is the mother lode of IOTA mults. From out
here JA is the mother lode of IOTA contacts. Unfortunately, there was a Japanese
domestic contest which reduced JA QSOs for North America. Only 106 JAs worked.
Still that equals about 865 non-IOTA QSOs! The opening on 20 was the best in
many years from out here in W6. Good signals all across Europe from about 2300
to 0700. Concentrated on IOTA stations and did not call CQ into Europe, even
though very tempting, since almost all callers would be 2 points not 15. 1 JA on
10 meters but band was good to Oceania just few stations.
Thanks for all the Qs an to Ken, N6RO who went single band 80 even though RSGB,
for some reason, doesn't have single band categories for non-IOTA stations. Also
there is no Multi category for non-IOTA stations thus eliminating fun for many
more operators. At least 3 more at K3EST would have become interested in IOTA if
there was a multi category. Strange since there used to be...Thanks to Ken for
the use of his station.
