First time ever I was chased off my back porch operating position…by a skunk!
The rigs and antenna were set up from the earlier sessions, so all I had to do
was adjust the match on my portable vertical. That would have been easy except
for the skunk who was exploring the back garden about 3 feet from the vertical
at 0245z. Discretion being the better part of valor, I grabbed my rig and power
supply, went inside and locked the door. Actual score was 0.
I should have gone to the garage and turned on the irrigation system and given
it a cold shower. I wasn’t think fast enough…..maybe next time.
